Do-or-die for the last PVL All-Filipino Conference finals spot.
Backs against the wall, the PLDT High Speed Hitters needed one more wake up call on Tuesday before rallying to secure the must-win Game 2 in the PVL All-Filipino Conference against the Petro Gazz Angels, 14-25, 25-23, 25-14, 25-15.
That forced a do-or-die on Thursday that PLDT coach Rald Ricafort believes will be decided by one factor.
With both teams exhausted, the High Speed Hitters tactician said both PLDT and Petro Gazz will bank on solid mindset.
"Wala nang maa-adjust halos, technically, sa mindset na lang," Ricafort said after winning Game 2.
"Kasi doon na lang siguro talaga magkakatalo-talo."
The High Speed Hitters proved in Game 2 that they are willing to fight until the end after recovering from a demoralizing opening set. Ricafort hopes his wards will have the same mojo as they aim to claim the franchise's first ever PVL finals appearance.
"Hopefully 'yung mindset namin sharp pa rin sa Thursday," he said.
"Basta nagpupunta ng arena, talagang sa game lang nagkakatalo kung sinong mas nakaka-adjust, sinong nakaka-execute."
