Fans can stop formulating their conspiracy theories now.

PLDT High Speed Hitters star Mika Reyes underwent a shoulder operation, the team announced on Sunday.

Reyes will be out for 6 to 8 weeks to recuperate from the said operation.

PLDT assured fans its ace player is recovering well as she was even seen watching Game 1 of the UAAP Season 85 women’s volleyball finals between the De La Salle University Lady Spikers and the National University Lady Bulldogs on Sunday. La Salle claimed the opener behind rookie Angel Canino.

“You’ve all been wondering why PLDT’s Mika Reyes hasn’t been in our training clips lately and this is why. She went through a shoulder operation but SHE IS OKAY,” said PLDT in a statement.

In the same statement, coach Rald Ricaforf revealed that the PLDT ace felt discomfort on her shoulder towards the end of the PVL All-Filipino Conference.

"Nag-undergo agad ng operation para mas maaga makabalik. Although, 'di naman natin siya mamadaliin para sure 100% pagbalik sa court," the tactician said.

PLDT settled for a fourth-place finish in the import-less conference. The High Speed Hitters would need Reyes to be at full strength if they want to go deeper in the playoffs next conference.
