The Creamline Cool Smashers setter will join Jaja Santiago in Japan.
It's official!
Jia de Guzman was introduced on Thursday as part of the Denso Airybees, a volleyball squad in the Japan V.League.
The setter even showed off her Japanese skills as she introduced herself to the club's fans.
"I'm so very happy to be here playing for the Denso Airybees. I hope to see you guys at the V.League soon," De Guzman said in both Japanese and English.
The Airybees finished sixth out of 12 teams in the 2022-23 season, picking up 14 wins and absorbing 19 losses.
Expect a Filipino reunion soon as the Airybees are also competing against JT Marvelous, a squad that recently signed Pinay volleyball powerhouse Jaja Santiago.
De Guzman is an eight-time PVL Best Setter and four-time Finals MVP for the Creamline Cool Smashers in the PVL. They finished as a runner-up in the 2023 Invitational Conference to Japanese guest team Kurashiki Ablaze.
