Choco Mucho will look to replicate their success from the Vietnam tilt last August.
The Choco Mucho Flying Titans are coming into the PVL second All-Filipino Conference with a renewed sense of confidence after their bronze-medal victory in the VTV International Women's Volleyball Cup 2023.
This was the team’s first-ever podium finish in any tournament, making it quite special for the players and fans.
Choco Mucho star Sisi Rondina led the team’s barrage during the tournament as they proved to themselves that they were capable of beating international teams.
“Going to VTV Cup, wala akong ibang inisip kundi maglaro. Wala na akong pakialam kung ano 'yung mangyayari basta ilalabas ko 'yung baon ko from Philippines to Vietnam. Ganun 'yung naging mindset ko,” Rondina said on One Sports’ The Game.
But aside from winning, Rondina also learned so much more about her teammates, specifically Maddie Madayag and Des Cheng.
“Dun ko nakita na sobrang composed ng mga kasama ko lalo na si Maddie, sila Des. Sabi ko, ang ganda kasama kasi gusto lang nila maglaro, gusto nilang manalo,” said Rondina.
With the lessons they’ve learned during the VTV Cup, Choco Mucho fans are hoping that the team can replicate its success in the PVL this time around.
Aside from proving that they are title contenders in the league, Rondina is also hoping to prove that coach Dante Alinsunurin’s system works.
“Going to this conference, siyempre magtatrabaho pa rin kami,” said Rondina. “Ipapakita namin kung ano 'yung sistema ni coach Dante and kung ano 'yung mga experience na nakuha namin and na-gain namin dun sa Vietnam.”
What better way to prove that Choco Mucho is indeed ready to challenge for the title than with an opening day match against the defending champs, the Creamline Cool Smashers.
