It’s the first fifth setter this conference.
Faith Nisperos couldn’t hide her excitement after the Akari Chargers outlasted the F2 Logistics Cargo Movers, 21-25, 25-20, 27-25, 19-25, 15-8 in the PVL Second All-Filipino Conference on Tuesday.
“I can say na team spirit, teamwork mas umiral today. I’m really proud of what we achieved today,” she said. “How many weeks, months of hardships, sacrifices ‘yung nangyari, today is just a testament of that hard work.”
Nisperos said the victory over their “ates” was a big boost for the youthful squad which also featured the debuting Fifi Sharma.
“Of course, it’s a great boost for us,” she said after the thriller at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Now she hopes the Chargers will be able to sustain their fine play in the 12-team conference.
“We can say na we did a good job against them. Hope to carry that performance onto our next games,” the former Ateneo Blue Eagle said.
Akari will need to be at its best anew when it faces PLDT High Speed Hitters on Thursday.
