The first week of the PVL Second All-Filipino Conference delivered its fair share of surprise performances. Emerging talents shone, established stars faced unexpected challenges, and underdog teams took the spotlight.

The league's opening week sets the tone for an exciting season ahead, where the unpredictable is always just a serve or spike away, keeping volleyball enthusiasts on the edge of their seats.

Here are five surprise performers during the opening week of the PVL Second All-Filipino Conference.

Lycha Ebon - Nxled Chameleons

After mostly being placed on the bench of the Akari Chargers, Ebon found her spot with rookie team Nxled.

The Former FEU Tamaraws standout led the Chameleons with 14 points off 12 attacks and two blocks in their first victory in the PVL.

If this was any indication of how she will play for the rest of the conference, Nxled will indeed be a team to watch out for.

Bia General - Cignal HD Spikers

The HD Spikers have proven once more that they are a team to reckon with despite missing the services of Rachel Anne Daquis and Jovelyn Gonzaga.

One of the standout performances for them in their win versus the PLDT High Speed Hitters was General, who finished with 33 excellent digs and 15 excellent receptions.

She stepped up for starting libero Jheck Dionela, who sat out due to an injury.

In any case, General proved that she’s of great value to Cignal.

Louie Romero - Farm Fresh Foxies

The Foxies may have lost to the Chery Tiggo Crossovers, but they showed great improvement from last conference.

A huge part of that is the arrival of setter Romero, who finished with 16 excellent sets.

Given that it was just her first game in the PVL, she showed that she is indeed ready for the professional league.

KC Galdones - Petro Gazz Angels

Aside from their usual stars, the Angels also found an unlikely spark in their attacks from Galdones.

She finished with seven points, including timely ones for Petro Gazz to secure a sweep of the debuting Galeries Tower Highrisers.

Kyle Negrito - Creamline Cool Smashers

Stepping in for former star setter Jia De Guzman is never an easy feat, but Negrito’s performance versus the Choco Mucho Flying Titans definitely made fans excited for what’s to come for the defending champs.

Negrito had an outstanding game with 23 excellent sets to go along with three points.

Jia probably made sure to leave Kyle with some pointers to ensure that Creamline is in safe hands.

Who else had a surprising performance this past week?
