It’s probably one of the most used words in sports. It doesn’t mean it’s not true, though.
The Chery Tiggo Crossovers have raced to a scintillating start in the PVL Second All-Filipino Conference even without top spiker Mylene Paat.
An integral part of that early success is setter Jasmine Nabor, who made her return to the team this conference.
On Thursday, Nabor contributed seven points built on three blocks and two aces to help the team dismantle new club Galeries Tower Highrisers, 25-14, 25-15, 25-21, and nab back-to-back victories.
Nabor, whose team beat the Farm Fresh Foxies in the opener, attributed Chery Tiggo's fine play to chemistry.
“Sobrang nakakatuwa kasi grabe talagang nag-gel ang team namin,” she said at the postmatch presser. “Lahat ng bata nakikinig, lahat nakikinig sa sistema na pinapagawa ng mga coaches."
This chemistry will be put to an early test when the Crossovers meet the suddenly dangerous Akari Chargers, who are coming off a big win against the F2 Logistics Cargo Movers to justify their standing as a pre-tournament darkhorse.
“Kailangan lahat magtutulungan. Lahat aangat,” said Nabor, who also had 12 excellent sets in the Crossovers' dominant victory.
With this talented mix of grizzled veterans and young upstarts finding that all-important chemistry, it would not be a surprise if it everyone rises to the occasion for Chery Tiggo.
