The Petro Gazz Angels remained undefeated in the PVL Second-All Filipino Conference after sweeping the Nxled Chameleons, 25-23, 25-21, 25-22, at the Candon City Arena in Ilocos Sur.

Despite the game being over in just three sets, the Chameleons proved to be a pesky opponent for the Angels.

But, in the end, it was Petro Gazz’s experience that proved to be the difference in the tightly contested match.

Djanel Cheng starred once more for the Angels as she finished with 10 excellent sets and five points.

Aiza Pontillas scored 15 points for Petro Gazz, while Gretchel Soltones and Jonah Sabete added 11 and 10 points, respectively.

“Big factor sa 'min ‘yung veterans kami. Sa crucial, alam namin ano gagawin,” Cheng said during the postgame interview.

Cheng is no stranger to close matches in the PVL. That’s why she always seems to be one of the calmer players on the court during these types of matches.

“'Pag dumidikit kailangan talaga maging calm, so gusto ko sana isa ako sa mga players namin na pagkadikdikan nandoon lang siya, present lagi,” said Cheng.

The Angels will look to continue their undefeated streak as they face the F2 Logistics Cargo Movers next on Thursday, November 2, at the Santa Rosa Sports Complex in Laguna.

Meanwhile, the Chameleons are hoping to get back on track when they go up against the PLDT High Speed Hitters, also on November 2.
