The Farm Fresh Foxies finally bagged their first-ever victory in the PVL on Tuesday after a straight-sets win over the Gerflor Defenders, 25-17, 25-17, 25-15, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.

It took the Foxies 12 games, which included the previous PVL Invitational Conference, before securing their maiden win in the league—but the joyous occasion has finally come.

The Foxies, who have been showing fans that they can compete against some of the top teams in the PVL, dominated the embattled Defenders in all three sets.

Team captain Louie Romero, who shared her goal with Farm Fresh at the start of the conference, led the way with two points and 13 excellent sets. After the match, she said they couldn’t hide their excitement.

“Sobrang happy kami ngayon kasi finally nakuha namin ‘yung panalo. Nagbunga lahat ng trainings namin and sacrifices namin,” Romero said during the postgame interview.

But the job doesn’t stop there for the now 1-7 Foxies.

Romero even shared some words of inspiration for her teammates, as they eye to grab even more wins in the tournament.

“Masasabi ko sa team ko na ‘wag kaming titigil sa sinimulan namin ngayon. Tuluy-tuloy lang ‘yung mga ginagawa namin,” said Romero. “Alam namin na magbubunga lahat ng efforfs and sacrifices namin.”

The same sentiment was shared by Trisha Tubu, who finished with nine points in the team’s historic win.

“Nakuha na namin 'yung momentum ngayon. Siguro tuluy-tuloy pa rin 'yung ginagawa namin tsaka trabaho lang din, so nag-e-enjoy kami palagi,” Tubu added during the postgame press conference.

Up next for the Foxies will be the Petro Gazz Angels next Tuesday at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig.

Meanwhile, Gerflor, which is hounded by salary issues, will try to grab its first win as well when it goes up against the Nxled Chameleons on Thursday at the FilOil EcoOil Centre in San Juan.
