Creamline Cool Smashers star Jema Galanza couldn't have wished for a better birthday celebration.
The 27-year-old outside spiker led the defending champions to a 25-22, 24-26, 25-20, 25-16 victory against the Chery Tiggo Crossovers on Tuesday to maintain their spotless record in the PVL Second All-Filipino Conference.
Galanza had 16 points, along with 18 excellent digs and 10 excellent receptions.
And just before her day ended, Galanza got an extra sweet message from teammate slash partner Ella de Jesus.
"I'll always be the lucky one," wrote de Jesus, as she shared a photo with Galanza on Instagram. "Hbd, my love."
Their teammate Tots Carlos couldn't help but chime in: "Ba yannnn."
Inspired players always deliver the best performances.
With the victory against Chery Tiggo, Galanza rose to the 17th spot among the league's top scorers with a total of 108 points.
She also figured ninth among top diggers with an average of 2.66 per set. She is also fifth among receivers with a 34.16% efficiency.
The unstoppable Creamline, already assured of a semifinals spot with a 9-0 record, will next face the Akari Chargers this Thursday and the Galeries Tower Highrisers next Tuesday, as they gun for a sweep of the elimination round.
