PVL

The eagerly awaited finals showdown between the Creamline Cool Smashers and the Choco Mucho Flying Titans in the PVL Second All-Filipino Conference did not disappoint. Although, the ladies in pink took the crown in two games, it was still a scintillating title fight that concluded in an unforgettable five setter in Game 2. The ebbs and flows during the decider were constant thus, heart-stopping moments were scattered throughout the match.

After witnessing a classic battle like that, fans, of both sides, just had to let their emotions out. It’s the only way to get their breathing patterns back to normal.

Let’s start by hearing their thoughts on the record crowd – 24, 459 passionate fans inside the Araneta Coliseum on Saturday.

One fan noted that more championship games are needed to satisfy the demand of the people.

“Bakit hindi pa nila gawing best of 5 or 7 ‘yan,” X user, @jayvee16_98 tweeted.

As for @DewleeAnne’s question regarding the tickets being sold out in a wink, the massive gate attendance may have answered it.

The fans also underscored how truly great the Cool Smashers are after they claimed their seventh PVL title.

“Hindi po pwede na itong line up ang magrepresent sa bansa kapag may laban sa Asia?,” @syjohny90 asked on X.

According to netizen @fretz_ag99584, beating Creamline will always remain a tall task.

“Ang hirap talagang talunin ng Creamline, kailangan mo pang dumaan sa butas ng karayom bago mo maagaw ‘yung trono nila. Grabe, hindi lang sila champion kundi undefeated team pa!,” he posted.

Of course, Alyssa Valdez's clutch appearance in the fifth set, which concluded with her title-clinching spike, also turned heads.

“She's the heart and soul of Philippine volleyball. Alyssa is still Alyssa,” netizen @iheartElma tweeted.

Valdez deserved to get a new award, according to X user @bloomyyrosie.

“Kung may award lang na Clutch (player) of the Conference, siya na talaga,” she commented.

Game 2 truly had it all. Creamline’s Tots Carlos claimed another Finals MVP after scoring 26 points. Choco Mucho’s Sisi Rondina meanwhile, ended her MVP campaign in the conference with a 33-point outing. It was just madness all over.

Expect the Philippine volleyball community to remain abuzz about this sensational encounter for quite a while.
