The Creamline Cool Smashers' puzzle remains unsolvable in the 2024 PVL All-Filipino Conference, as the defending champions ran over league newcomers Strong Group Athletics on Tuesday.

The defending champions showcased their might against the winless SGA side in straight sets, 25-13, 25-13, 25-19, to take the solo lead in the standings at the PhilSports Arena.

Save for a brief moment in the early goings, the Cool Smashers barely faced any resistance, even taking a 15-1 lead in the second set.

Backed against the wall, SGA played with a sense of urgency in the decisive third, keeping in step with Creamline, 6-all. However, Bernadeth Pons took charge and steered the Cool Smashers to a 22-18 separation.

The ladies in pink-and-white would never relinquish the lead the rest of the way en route to their fourth consecutive wins in as many matches.

Pons spearheaded another balanced offensive thrust for Creamline with 12 points built on two attacks and two aces, leading 10 other Cool Smashers in scoring.

Alyssa Valdez, who also delivered differential hits down the stretch, contributed nine markers, while Dij Rodriguez and Jema Galanza each had five points.

SGA fell to a 0-4 card.

Dolly Verzosa paced the losing side with eight points, four receptions and 11 digs that went for naught, while Sheeka Espinosa and Justine Rebleza managed six apiece.

Creamline aims to extend its winning streak to five when it collides with Chery Tiggo on March 16, Saturday, at the Sta. Rosa Sports Complex.

SGA, on the other hand, seeks to barge into the win column when it faces Cignal on March 19, Tuesday, at the FilOil EcoOil Arena.
