The Capital1 Solar Spikers have confirmed that Russian outside hitter Marina Tushova will be the team’s import for the upcoming 2024 PVL Reinforced Conference.

The 26-year-old last played for Sparta Nizhny Novgorod in Russia in the 2023-2024 season. Prior to that, Tushova had stints in France and Switzerland.

Tushova is expected to boost the Solar Spikers' performance in the upcoming PVL conference, following the team’s 1-10 record in the All-Filipino Conference.

“We’re proud to have signed off Ms. Marina Tushova, who’s an incredibly young and talented player from Russia,” said Capital1 team owner Mandy Romero.

“She has already arrived in the Philippines, and so far, she’s been experiencing the Filipino hospitality and warmth. She has the Filipino fighting spirit that we’re all looking and we hope can bring the excitement to the fans,” she added.

In addition, the team also added veteran setter Iris Tolenada, who is coming off her stint with the GS Caltex Seoul KIXX in the Korean V-League.

Capital1 will also have the second pick in the inaugural 2024 PVL Draft set on July 8.
