Angge Alcantara will be under the tutelage of champions setters Kim Fajardo and Rhea Dimaculangan.
Despite having an already stacked roster heading into the PVL 2024 Reinforced Conference, the PLDT High Speed Hitters decided to add some youth among their setters by picking Angge Alcantara of Adamson University.
Alcantara was selected eighth overall by PLDT in the inaugural PVL Rookie Draft, where she will be joining the ranks of veteran and champion setters Kim Fajardo and Rhea Dimaculangan.
“As a setter po, sobrang excited po ako kasi knowing na veterans po sila, alam kong marami po akong matututunan sa kanila. Willing naman ako to learn and to be better as a setter,” Alcantara told reporters.
Despite Adamson’s disappointing run in UAAP Season 86, Alcantara proved to be one of the team’s bright spots as she orchestrated the Lady Falcons’ offense.
Although she may be down in the pecking order, the 23-year-old setter may have a shot at getting some minutes for the High Speed Hitters in the Reinforced Conference, with Dimaculangan set to miss some time after her wedding last June.

With this in mind, Alcantara is ready to step up and provide her stable setting abilities to a PLDT squad that's ready to compete for the championship.
“Ready naman ako kasi alam ko naman na nandyan si ate Kim Fajardo po na i-hehelp po ako na magampanan yung role ni ate Rhea [Dimaculangan],” said Alcantara.
