Time was not the enemy of Nxled Chameleons import Meegan Hart.

Despite limited preparation entering the PVL, Hart was able to adjust quickly, crediting her teammates and the whole coaching staff in their Reinforced Conference opener against the Galeries Tower Highrisers.

“I always put my best foot forward. Trusting my game, my teammates, the coaching staff. Knowing they trust me gives me confidence to get out there and play hard,” Hart said in the post-game interview of the Chameleons’ five-set grindfest over the Highrisers to open the 2024 PVL Reinforced Conference with a bang on Thursday, July 18.

Hart put up an impressive debut, logging 19 points built on 12 attacks and seven blocks. The revamped Chameleons tapped the American middle blocker over Chinese import Jiang Xuanyao to start the import-laden tournament campaign.

That decision proved to be the right one.

Nxled assistant tactician Raffy Mosuela admitted that Hart only had one day to mesh with the rest of the team, and revealed that the decision on whether they will stick to Hart depends on the coaching staff.

Still, Hart bared that she feels the difference in pace the way Philippine volleyball is played, but remains grateful to her teammates in helping her adjust.

“It’s a lot faster than I’m used to, a little scrappy [and] plays a little longer. But overall, it’s been good.”

“It’s great we got the win. I’m feeling really welcomed. The experience has been awesome and I’m really excited to be here.”

Finally, Hart was all praises on her friend, reigning All-Filipino MVP Brooke Van Sickle of the two-time defending champion Petro Gazz Angels, who she wishes to play down the line.

“Brooke [Van Sickle] is an amazing player. I’m excited to see her across the net.”

Up next for the Chameleons are the Chery Tiggo Crossovers who they will play on Saturday, July 20.
