Sun-kissed clutch it is.

Marina Tushova smashed the PVL record with an absurd 45-point outing to power the Capital1 Solar Spikers to a thrilling 13-25, 25-21,18-25, 25-20 and 15-13 upset win over the Choco Mucho Flying Titans in Pool B play of PVL Reinforced Conference.

Tushova capped her historic night by scoring the game-winning point of an off-the-block hit. She scored her 43rd and 44 point late before Norielle Ipac provided the clutch hits.

The Russian import broke the scoring record held by Akari's Prisilla Rivera, who had 44 points back in the 2022 PVL Reinforced Conference. Tushova also eclipsed the attacking record held by Lakia Jamiah Bright of BanKo Perlas Spikers who registered 40 spikes before with 43 of her own.

If that's not enought, Tushova also flirted with a triple-double and finished with 12 excellent digs and 18 excellent receptions.

Capital1 simply refused to give up, led by their Russian import and forced a fifth set en route to their second win in four games and claimed an even 2-2 record in Pool B, good for third behind unbeaten leaders Cignal and Akari.

Earlier, Capital1 rode a 4-0 blitz capped off by a Faki error to hold a sizable gap at 20-16 in the second set.

From that point on, it was a Tushova show after scoring her team’s last four points before Iris Tolenada connected on an ace to seal a set 2 win for the Solar Spikers.

Meanwhile, import Zoi Faki topscored the Flying Titans with 28 points while Dindin Santiago-Manabat added 16 markers in a loss.

Choco Mucho even raced to dominating start and led 2-1 in set counts before faltering in the final set.
