Every team in the PBA Season 49 Governors’ Cup has at least a win now after erstwhile listless Terrafirma got the better of contender TNT.
After coming so close to scoring a breakthrough the last couple of games, Terrafirma finally tasted victory.
Thanks in large part to Stanley Pringle’s late-game heroics, the Dyip finally entered the win column via an 84-72 dispatching of no less than league-leader TNT on Thursday, Sept. 19.
Quiet in the first three quarters, Pringle poured it all in the fourth period where he dropped 13 of his 18 points.
Sensing he needed to pounce after Rondae Hollis-Jefferson gave the Tropang Giga a boost with a throwdown to trim the gap to three, Pringle responded with eight straight points for a 79-70 cushion.

Terrafirma was simply in control from there to finally notch its first win in nine games.
Antonio Hester logged 25 points and 11 rebounds for the Dyip but had to sit out the final minutes because of an apparent wrist issue. Louie Sangalang added 18 points.
Hollis-Jefferson submitted 25 points and 11 rebounds while RR Pogoy chipped in 23 points for TNT, which still paces Group A despite the loss with its 7-2 slate.
