The ZUS Coffee Thunderbelles ended their 20-game losing skid since joining the PVL after taking down the Nxled Chameleons in four sets in the 2024-2025 PVL All-Filipino Conference.
ZUS Coffee snatched its first-ever franchise victory in the 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference after overpowering Nxled in four sets, 19-25, 25-23, 25-22, 25-15, at the Ynares Center Antipolo on Tuesday, Nov. 19.
This is the Thunderbelles’ first victory since joining the league in the 2024 PVL All-Filipino Conference in February, ending a 20-game losing skid.
In the third set, ZUS Coffee pushed ahead for an 11-point lead at 16-5 after a double contact error by Nxled’s Maji Mangulabnan.
The Thunderbelles had their largest lead at 22-8 after a running attack by no. 1 pick Thea Gagate.
The Chameleons would cut the lead to single digits after a 7-0 run, but Gayle Pascual would seal the win with three-straight kills.
Jovelyn Gonzaga powered the Thunderbelles with 23 points on 20 attacks and three blocks on 67 percent attacking efficiency.
ZUS Coffee will go for win no. 2 against the Galeries Tower Highrisers on Nov. 28 at the Philsports Arena in Pasig.
Nxled, meanwhile, continues to search for its first win in the conference against the Chery Tiggo Crossovers on Nov. 26, also at PhilSports.
