The Creamline Cool Smashers showed their championship poise after shutting out the Akari Chargers in straight sets in the 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference semifinals.
The Creamline Cool Smashers would not be denied a dominant bounce-back win after sweeping the Akari Chargers, 25-18, 25-19, 25-19, in the 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference semifinals at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig on Tuesday, April 1.
Coming off their four-set defeat against the Petro Gazz Angels last Saturday, the Cool Smashers flexed their might against the Chargers, who were hoping to seal their Finals berth.
Tied at 11-all in the third set, the defending champions started to pull away from Akari behind an 11-4 run led by Bernadeth Pons, who scored five points in the run.
From there, the Cool Smashers cruised to a dominant win to improve to 1-1 in the round-robin semifinals with Alyssa Valdez sealing the final point with an off-the-block hit.
Pangs Panaga took home Player of the Game honors with 13 points on 10 attacks, one block, and two service aces.
Creamline will look to seal their 7th straight Finals appearance when they take on the Choco Mucho Flying Titans at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Cubao on Thursday, April 3.
