She's looking like the complete package.
Myla Pablo’s much-publicized move to the F2 Logistics Cargo Movers is paying early dividends.
The Cargo Movers climbed to 2-0 on Saturday night after repulsing the Akari Chargers in straight sets, 25-22, 25-23, 25-18, at the PhilSports Arena. Kim Kianna Dy again led the way, with Dawn Macandili again playing her usual steady, heady game.
Pablo herself had her moments, and her contributions to F2 Logistics’ 2-0 start aren’t lost to both Dy and Macandili. The Cargo Movers’ resident stars gave Pablo plenty of credit, noting how the two-time PVL MVP has managed to integrate herself seamlessly to her new team.
“Ang tagal ko nang kalaro si ate Myla inside the court,” said Macandili after the Cargo Movers’ second win of the conference. “Ganun siya kabilis nag-adjust sa team and sobrang easy niya kasama sa laro.”
Dy, meanwhile, hinted at bigger things to come with Pablo in tow.
“I got to play with her before sa national team. She’s really a good addition to our team. She knows her role and, together, we will make magic,” added Dy, perhaps semi-jokingly.
But it’s hard not to see what the Cargo Movers can potentially accomplish this season with their already talented roster further strengthened by the addition of Pablo, who was among F2 Logistics’ key players in the team’s opener against the PLDT High Speed Hitters.
F2 Logistics coach Regine Diego agreed with Dy’s assessment and is all praises for the Cargo Movers’ prized offseason acquisition.
“Myla gives a lot of contributions to the team,” said Diego, who emphasized, in particular, the veteran’s leadership. “Nagli-lead din siya, kasi she’s one of the older players, so we like that there’s so many leaders inside, lalo si Myla.”
Diego also praised Pablo’s competitiveness and big moment gravitas—both of which Pablo showed when she ended the first set emphatically.
“Sobrang mature niya maglaro, and nadadala niya rin ‘yung team minsan, lalo pag mga crucial. Palaban din talaga si Myla,” Diego further pointed out.
With a leader as talented and as fiery as Pablo, maybe the Cargo Movers can actually make some magic after all.
