Shooting guard Xyrus Torres has bid farewell to the FEU Tamaraws, after nine years as a young student-athlete in the UAAP.

The Kapampangan baller posted his farewell message on social media this Wednesday.

"As I write this, I am filled with a mixture of gratitude, nostalgia, and a touch of sadness. Nine years as a university athlete here at FEU has been an incredible journey, that has shaped me both as an athlete and as an individual," he began.

"I would like to express my deepest appreciation to the entire FEU community for the unwavering support throughout my athletic career. It is your continuous support that has fueled my drive and inspired me to push my limits both on and off the field," Torres added.

The young gunner was memorably part of the FEU-D Baby Tamaraws' title run in UAAP Season 79.

As part of the senior squad, Torres helped FEU reach the semifinals in UAAP Season 82 and 84. But they fell to seventh place in Season 85 and 86.

He still had memorable moments for the recent basketball season, such as this first quarter buzzer-beating three against the Ateneo Blue Eagles.

Plus, he showed a masterclass in all kinds of defensive stops.

Fellow Tamaraws were ready to shower him with flowers.

"My brother!!! Its an amazing journey na maging isang teammate ka jrs to srs, happy for you man! On to the next. 🤞🏽🔰" commented RJ Abarrientos, who now plays in the Japan B.League.

"Humble beast 🔰🔰🔰good luck Xy," added teammate Mouhamed Faty.

Before Torres posted his farewell, the former Gilas U19 baller suited up for the TNT Triple Giga in the Jumpshot 3x3 tournament in Singapore.

The group of Torres, Rey Telen Jr., Matt Salem, and Samboy de Leon finished with a 1-1 record in Pool A, but fell to Singapore's BAS Men B in overtime of the quarterfinals, 19-17.
