The Farm Fresh Foxies are still hoping that the PVL will reconsider its decision and allow Fil-Am setter Alohi Robins-Hardy to play in the upcoming 2024-25 All-FIlipino Conference.

Team owner Frank Lao has made a strong appeal to the PVL to let Robins-Hardy play without going through the draft, even securing the support of several teams in the league.

But even with their appeal still ongoing, the Foxies have been looking at other possibilities not to waste Robins-Hardy’s talent.

“Na-discuss din namin ‘yan actually, kasi it’s a waste of talent na hindi makakalaro si Alohi so all possibilities are on the table. So if we meet a dead end, eventually we will study our options for Alohi,” said Atty. Donn Kapunan.

Among those options is to possibly play in the Maharlika Pilipinas Volleyball Association under the Quezon Tangerines, which is also backed by Farm Fresh team owner Frank Lao.

Currently, the Foxies continue to wait on the 28-year-old setter’s situation with the PVL.

Robins-Hardy signed with Farm Fresh in October, boosting the team’s chances of possibly making it to the semifinals of the extended All-Filipino Conference.

However, the PVL has affirmed that Robins-Hardy must undergo the draft since she did not play or was not part of any lineup from 2021 until the 2024 Invitational Conference.

“Wala right now kasi PVL sent us a letter specifying that Alohi won’t be able to play in this upcoming conference, she has to undergo the [rookie] draft,” said team manager CK Kanapi-Danioclo.

For her part, Robins-Hardy admits that she can’t do much, especially with the league’s rules already being enforced. Nonetheless, she is hoping to play once more in the Philippines.

“I can’t do anything about it, it’s not in my control, it’s not in our control. The PVL will say and do what they want, and what they think is right, and we will stand behind that or we won’t fight, we won’t argue,” said Robins-Hardy.
