National University grabbed its third-straight win in the UAAP Season 86 women's volleyball tournament after overpowering the UP Fighting Maroons in straight sets, 25-17, 25-16, 25-17, at the Mall of Asia Arena on Saturday, March 2.
The Lady Bulldogs took control from the get go and never looked back as they dominated the Fighting Maroons in all three sets for a comfortable victory.
In the second set, NU was able to field in its bench after stretching its lead to as many as nine points at 21-12.
UP tried to mount a comeback after falling behind early in the third set. However, NU proved to be too much as the Lady Bulldogs improve to 3-1 in Season 86.
Vange Alinsug led the Lady Bulldogs with 15 points built on 13 attacks, one block, and one ace. Bella Belen and Alyssa Solomon added 10 markers.
No UP player finished in double-digit scoring with Nina Ytang being the team's highest scorer with seven points.
