Far Eastern University strengthened its Final Four bid after overpowering Adamson University in straight sets, 25-19, 25-23, 25-23, in the UAAP Season 86 women's volleyball tournament at the Smart Araneta Coliseum Tuesday, April 9.

The Lady Tamaraws, fresh from their crucial victory over Ateneo, hardly broke a sweat in the first set before fending off the Lady Falcons' late attempts in the second and third to claim back-to-back wins, which kept them in the fourth spot with a strong 6-4 record.

Leading by only a single point at 22-21 in the third set, FEU turned to Faida Bakanke for the final charge and she delivered back-to-back points to give the Lady Tamaraws a three-point lead.

A service error and a Barbie Jamili attack closed the gap to just one again, but Gerzel Petallo sealed the win with a tip which Adamson failed to cover.

Bakanke finished with 13 points built on 11 attacks and two blocks, while Chen Tagaod and Jean Asis added 12 and 10 markers, respectively. Petallo also contributed 10 in the FEU win.

Red Bascon and Jamili led Adamson with 13 and 11 points respectively, as the Lady Falcons dropped to a 2-7 record.
