The Ateneo Blue Eagles are reeling from not one, but two season-ending injuries to Zel Tsunashima and Jlo Delos Santos right at the start of their UAAP Season 87 women's volleyball campaign.
The Ateneo Blue Eagles will need to make do for the rest of UAAP Season 87 without two of their players, following the assessment of injuries suffered by Zel Tsunashima and Jlo Delos Santos just last week.
Tsunashima suffered a freak injury during their opening game loss to the Adamson Lady Falcons, where she landed awkwardly from a block attempt which left her with a broken left shin (tibia and fibula) in the fifth set.

Tsunashima had 10 points at that point and was a big cog in Ateneo’s bid against the Lady Falcons.
She exited the game late in the deciding set, when the Lady Falcons were ahead, 11-9.
Meanwhile, Delos Santos--who was injured in a tune-up game on Valentine’s Day--was assessed to have torn her left ACL, making her unavailable for the Katipunan squad for their Season 87 bid.
Tsunashima and Delos Santos’ injuries added a blow to the already reeling Blue Eagles who also have Sobe Buena and Zey Pacia with minor aches.
The Blue Eagles, now in their second year under Sergio Veloso, will now make do with a lineup headlined by Lyann De Guzman and AC Miner.
