The UST Golden Spikers have gone streaking for the first time this UAAP Season 87 and now head to an opening round duel against the Adamson Soaring Falcons, aiming for a third straight win on Saturday, March 1, at the Mall of Asia Arena, Pasay.

For the second straight game without two-time MVP Josh Ybañez, UST relied on their depth to thwart the DLSU Green Spikers to notch their second win in three games.

It put the Espana-base in joint second in the team standings alongside four-time defending champion NU Bulldogs and the Ateneo Blue Eagles.

Popoy Colinares picked up the scoring cudgels for UST with 17 points while Jayrack Dela Noche added 12 markers, and rookie JJ Macam chipping 10 more.

It was the Growling Tigers’ first victory against La Salle since a four-set triumph in the second round of Season 85 two years ago.

With the momentum on their side, UST goes for a sixth win in their last seven outings in facing the Adamson squad.

Match time is at 9:00 a.m.
