The NU Lady Bulldogs rediscovered their winning ways with a dominant showing over the listless UE Lady Warriors, 25-8, 25-22, 25-12, to move on the cusp of a twice-to-beat bonus in the Final Four of UAAP Season 87 at the Philsports Arena in Pasig City on Wednesday.

The Lady Bulldogs, who are coming off of a stinging loss to Adamson, once again had to play without Alyssa Solomon who is still nursing an ankle injury.

But Aisha Bello stepped up to the plate with nine points to steady the ship for NU in Solomon’s absence.

Reigning MVP Bella Belen, however, continued to be the heart and soul of her team with 16 points in three sets to go along with 13 excellent digs and eight excellent receptions.

Save for an inspired effort from UE in Set 2, the Lady Bulldogs hardly broke a sweat.

They came up strong in the first set with a thorough 25-8 beating before finishing off their foes in straight sets.

NU improves to 10-2 for the year and are now just one win away from sealing one of the two twice-to-beat advantages in the semis.

Meanwhile, UE continue searching for their first win for the season and are now 0-12.

Khy Cepada and Van Bangayan had six points each in the losing effort for the Lady Warriors.
