Italian tactician Angiolino Frigoni has taken over the coaching post of Alas Pilipinas Men.
Alas Pilipinas Men are set to begin a new chapter under the tutelage of newly-appointed head coach Angiolino Frigoni.
Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF) chief Ramon 'Tats' Suzara confirmed the development during the 2024 Volleyball Nations League (VNL) on Saturday, June 22.
“We have a new Italian coach. He’s a two-time Olympic coach Frigoni. He’s here to share with us his expertise and to bring our team and elevate their skills next year,” Suzara said.
Frigoni, a renowned figure in the international volleyball scene, brings with him a wealth of experience from his coaching stints in Italy, the Netherlands, Russia, Azerbaijan, and Egypt.
Meanwhile, outgoing head coach Sergio Veloso will continue to play a vital role in Philippine volleyball.
Veloso, who is also the current head coach of Ateneo's volleyball team, has been appointed as the PNVF's new director for junior development.
“Sergio will now be the director for the junior development, so we’re now setting up a junior development program. Sergio will be in charge of the under 18, under 20 [teams],” Suzara said.
