Bryan Bagunas remains optimistic about his return to the taraflex as he continues to recover from a left knee injury sustained during the 2024 Southeast Asia Volleyball League.

While there is no exact timetable for his comeback, the superstar outside hitter is making steady progress in his rehabilitation ahead of the 2025 FIVB Men's Volleyball World Championship, which will be held in Manila in September.

Bagunas shared that he is currently at 60 to 70 percent strength, and though he has started jumping again, he remains cautious about rushing his return.

“Siguro mga 60 to 70 percent kasi nakakatalon na ulit ako,” Bagunas told reporters at the sidelines of the PNVF media event & partnership announcement.

But as he has yet to return to the taraflex, the 27-year-old spiker understands the importance of a complete recovery, especially with major tournaments ahead.

Bagunas, who is an official ambassador for the World Championships, is expected to play a vital role in Alas Pilipinas’ upcoming tournaments later in the year.

While he is eager to get back on the court, the Cignal HD Spikers star is prioritizing a step-by-step approach to ensure he reaches full-match fitness without risking further injury.

“For now, ano naman, maganda ‘yung progress ng therapy ko so tingin ko makakabalik naman ako as soon as possible. Pero siyempre, kailangan ko i-make sure na 100 percent talaga ako para makabalik na,” said Bagunas.

“Medyo malayo pa pero dahan-dahan to make sure na pagbalik ko is 100 percent na ako,” he added.
