It was a bittersweet moment for Indonesia when the country's Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Season 11 winner ONIC Esports was drawn against MPL runner-up EVOS Legends for the MLBB Southeast Asia Cup (MSC) quarterfinals.
That meant the powerhouse country would be left with one representative in the final four.
The sweet part came when Pinoy EXP laner Gerald "Dlar" Trinchera was called up for EVOS, making his MSC debut.
His last international appearance was at the M3 with ONIC Philippines. And his former teammate Kairi Rayosdelsol was glad to see him back.
"Miss you, Dlar," Kairi posted on Facebook.
Kairi though—now part of ONIC Esportswas in game mode as he helped blast EVOS Legends in a 3-0 sweep in the quarterfinals.
The result led to this hug between the two Indonesian teams.
"I think he did great, I think he had a great impact for the team," Kairi said of Dlar, when asked by fellow Filipino Mara Aquino during the post-match interview.
Now Kairi and the porcupines of ONIC arranged a rematch with orcas of ECHO. They last faced each other in the M4 upper bracket, where the Pinoy squad eventually got the title.
The renowned jungler though is ready for the grudge match against ECHO's Karl"KarlTzy" Nepomuceno.
One question remains, as posed by MSC—who has the better looks? Kairi or Dlar?
