SEA Games three-peat is over the horizon.
One of the pillars and the most decorated player of Gilas Pilipinas Women is back in town just in time for the crucial buildup to the 2023 Southeast Asian Games in Cambodia.
Jack Danielle Animam, the first Filipina to play professional basketball overseas, is back in town. The five-time UAAP champion, who was unbeaten during her collegiate career with the National University Lady Bulldogs, shared via Instagram on Wednesday that she graced the national team's practice.
The 6-foot-5 center, currently playing pro ball for USO Mondeville Basket in France, will be a very pivotal cog in the women's squad's bid for a third straight gold medal in the SEA Games. Animam came home with newly found knowledge and experience following her stints with two European clubs since January this year.
In Gilas, Animam will join familiar faces in coach Pat Aquino and teammates Afril Bernardino and Janine Pontejos. The history-maker herself is raring to get back in the biennial meet after missing the 2021 SEA Games in Vietnam due to an ACL injury.
