Diaz continues to further improve her weightlifting academy.
Hidilyn Diaz has been busy not just in lifting weights, but in establishing her own weightlifting academy as well—the aptly named HD Weightlifting Academy
The Tokyo Olympics gold medalist and her husband, Julius Naranjo, had previously assumed the daunting responsibility of initiating a grassroots program aimed at kickstarting a weightlifting program.
Now, they are looking to take the HD Weightlifting Academy even further.
In her Instagram Stories, Diaz shared progress videos of the academy's cottages and gym being built, all while expressing her excitement about seeing these completely built in the near future.
The HD Weightlifting Academy is located in Jala-Jala, Rizal.
“I’m so excited with the outcome of @hdweightliftingacademy cottages and gym,” Diaz wrote in her story.
Diaz also got a bit sentimental after seeing the progress of the cottages, especially as they continue to train kids despite their busy schedules.
“Ang nakikita lang natin ay ‘yun hirap ng araw-araw na gawin. ‘Di natin nakikita ang outcome ng ating sakripisyo at pagod sa training,” said Diaz.
“Malapit na matapos oh. Parating ulan at lakas ng hangin pero continue parin ang trabaho. Ang importante matatapos rin at maganda talaga ang gawa,” she added.
Maybe one of the youngsters they are teaching could become the next Hidilyn Diaz.
But for now, the 32-year-old Filipina weightlifter will look to achieve her goal of qualifying for the 2024 Paris Olympics—and potentially winning another medal in the quadrennial showpiece.
Best believe, though, that she will always find time to make sure her dream academy is being built the right way.
