They just keep on winning.
What a year it has been for Hali Long and Inna Palacios.
To wit: A historic campaign in the FIFA Women's World Cup, an impressive stint in the Asian Games, a deep run in the AFC Women's Olympic Qualifying Tournament, and a few magazine covers to boot.
But as if those milestones weren't enough, the two veterans of the Philippine women's football team added another feather to their cap: The PFF Women's League (PFFWL) championship.
Long and Palacios helped Kaya FC-Iloilo top the tournament with a nail-biting 1-0 win over Manila Digger FC in the finals last Saturday at the Rizal Memorial Stadium. They became the first club to win the PFFWL crown.
On Sunday, Long, a co-captain of the Filipinas, reposted a video from Futbol Brew on her Instagram Story showing her holding the huge trophy and pretending to drink from it.
"Sana may laman," said the video.
Meanwhile, Palacios, a longtime goalkeeper of the Filipinas, posted on her Instagram Story a congratulatory poster for Kaya FC-Iloilo.
"Good morning! Grabe this team," wrote Palacios, adding a yellow heart emoji.

While Long and Palacios, along with Filipinas teammate Camille Rodriguez, are the faces of the team, it was unheralded Sheen Nicole Ramores who provided the heroics for Kaya FC-Iloilo in the PFFWL finals. Coming in as a substitute, she scored in the 86th minute to seal the title.
“I’m happy for Kaya, it’s another historic achievement for the club. We’re the first club to win the PFF Women’s League and it is a huge honor for us to get this title,” said Kaya FC-Iloilo coach Let Dimzon, as quoted by the PFF.

Long and Palacios may have fallen short of the ultimate prizes in international tournaments, but winning the PFFWL is definitely a sweet way to cap what has been a memorable year for them.
