Aside from Kai, other Pinoy hoopers also see action for their respective teams in Japan.
Kai Sotto finally has a breakout game in Yokohama, but the B-Corsairs absorb a disappointing home loss.
In 20 minutes off the bench, the 7-foot-3 Sotto finished with 16 points and five rebounds for Yokohama in the team’s 86-98 loss to the Shimane Susanoo Magic on Saturday.
It’s Kai’s most productive game as a B-Corsair. And in his longest court time in Yokohoma, Sotto had several spectacular plays on both sides of the court, highlighted by this emphatic putback slam during the second quarter.
In other B1 results, Dwight Ramos followed up his season-high performance last week with another solid effort of 17 points. But Levanga Hokkaido also take a tough 73-79 home loss to the Shinshu Brave Warriors.
During the match, Ramos also matched up with fellow Gilas Pilipinas guard RJ Abarrientos, who finished with four points, two rebounds, and one assist in 16 minutes of play.
Ray Parks Jr., meanwhile, contributed 11 points and three rebounds in the Nagoya Diamond Dolphins' close 89-85 victory over the Sendai 89ers.
With the win, Nagoya stays in the hunt in the tough West where three games separate the top four teams.
