JD Cagulangan arrives in South Korea to join Suwon KT Sonicboom in KBL

UAAP Finals MVP JD Cagulangan has officially landed in South Korea to join the Suwon KT Sonicboom in the Korean Basketball League (KBL).

In Instagram stories posted by Suwon KT, Cagulangan could be seen arriving at the Incheon International Airport.

Cagulangan, who led the UP Fighting Maroons to the UAAP Season 87 men's basketball title, brings a championship pedigree and remarkable stats to the KT Sonicboom.

In his final season with UP, the two-time UAAP champion averaged 11.75 points, 4.94 assists, 4.31 rebounds, and 1.69 steals per game.

His performance in the UAAP Finals was nothing short of stellar, recording averages of 13.67 points, 4.33 rebounds, 4.67 assists, 1.33 steals, and 0.67 blocks in the championship series.

In his final game with the Maroons, Cagulangan tallied 12 points, two rebounds, four assists, and three steals, leaving a lasting impression as one of the league's most reliable floor generals.

At Suwon KT, Cagulangan joins a growing roster of Filipino talent in the KBL, including Carl Tamayo, Justin Gutang, Migs Oczon, and SJ Belangel.

Together with other rising stars, Cagulangan looks to make a mark in South Korea and continue his basketball journey on the international stage.

First up for Cagulangan and the Sonicboom will be Gutang and the Seoul Samsung Thunder on Saturday, January 11 at 1:00 p.m.
