The Savouge Spin Doctors remain perfect over the VNS-Laticrete Griffins after sweeping their bronze medal series in the 2025 Spikers' Turf Open Conference.
The Savouge Spin Doctors will take home their second-straight bronze medal after sweeping the VNS-Laticrete Griffins, 25-19, 25-23, 25-22, in Game 2 of the 2025 Spikers’ Turf Open Conference at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig on Friday, April 4.
After their commanding straight-sets victory in Game 1 on Wednesday, the Spin Doctors extended their dominance over the Griffins, securing their fifth consecutive win against them in the conference.
Trailing 15-17 in the third set, Savouge went on a quick 5-0 run led by Renzel Antonio and Shawie Caritativo to pull away from VNS-Laticrete.
Caritativo would continue to pounce on the Griffins, extending their lead to four points at 22-18 after back-to-back points.
Giles Torres, Mark Calado, and Madz Gampong would then close out the game to seal the third-place finish for the Sydney Calderon-led squad.
Caritativo was hailed the Player of the Game with six points on three attacks and three blocks, all of which came in the third set.
"Isang araw lang ako nag-rehab. Hinabol namin talaga itong Game 2 para makapasok ako. Nilaban ko talaga," said Caritativo. "'Yung journey namin is hindi kami pinalad makapasok ng Finals so dinefend nalang talaga namin 'yung bronze."
