The Choco Mucho Flying Titans gain the upper hand in their bronze medal series against the Akari Chargers after closing out Game 2 in four sets.
The Choco Mucho Flying Titans finally get one over the Akari Chargers after securing a four-set victory, 25-18, 25-22, 27-29, 25-19, in Game 2 of the 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference bronze medal series at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Cubao on Thursday, April 10.
As it stands, the Flying Titans can secure the bronze medal finish should the Petro Gazz Angels close out the championship series later in Game 2.
Contrary to Game 1 and their semifinal encounter, Choco Mucho showed great composure to close out Akari in four sets despite the looming threat of another reverse sweep.
In the fourth frame, Sisi Rondina powered the Flying Titans to a five-point lead at 12-7, which they would go on to further extend at 21-14 after Royse Tubino’s service ace.
From there, the Dante Alinsunurin-led squad cruised to secure the much-needed victory with Rondina delivering the game-winning attack.
Rondina finished with a game-high 26 points on 25 attacks and one block.
Should a Game 3 happen between Petro Gazz and Creamline, the winner-take-all match for the bronze medal will happen on Saturday, April 12.
