It was a reunion of sorts for Kai Sotto and Mojave King on Sunday, Manila time.
The former Adelaide 36ers teammates in the NBL had a brief catching-up moment at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas for the NBA Summer League.
This time, though, they found themselves on opposing sides as Sotto is suiting up for the Orlando Magic while King is playing for the Indiana Pacers.
King was drafted 47th overall by the Los Angeles Lakers in the 2023 Draft. Meanwhile, Sotto remains in the hunt for that coveted NBA spot with this Summer League stint.
On Sunday, not a few fans expressed their disappointed as the 7-foot-3 Filipino wunderkind was glued to the bench in Magic’s first game against the Detroit Pistons.
Pistons beat Orlando, 89-78.
But if things will go Sotto’s way, he will have another shot on Tuesday against King’s Pacers.
