Sam Catantan is living proof that sports and education are the ultimate power duo.

After an inspiring outing for her first stint in the Olympics, the 22-year-old Filipina fencer is now making her mark with a huge milestone for her studies, taking on the graduation stage at Pennsylvania State University.

“Paris Olympics ?? Penn State🎓1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 #classof2024,” she posted on Instagram.

In less than a month, Catantan scored big on two fronts—making waves at the Olympics and crossing the finish line of her studies. From battling on the global stage to nailing her academic goals, she’s proving that success comes in all forms.

Talk about unstoppable.

Sam has proved that nothing can hold her back.

Despite battling a knee injury, Catantan outdueled Brazil’s Mariana Pistoia for a nail-biting debut victory in Paris 2024.

“Forever proud Pinay, forever an Olympian. I still can't believe how this became possible at such an unexpected time. This is an experience I will never forget for the rest of my life,” she wrote.

Now amidst the battle of another torn ACL, Sam's resolve to bounce back shines brightly. With her fierce determination and hope, there’s no doubt she will rise once more, stronger and more inspiring than ever.

“Unfortunately, I re-tore my ACL and need to take some time off the strip again. Despite this, I feel beyond blessed and grateful for all His grace. I know I can do it, and I will do it again,” she posted.

“This journey is far from over, but we've come a long way. Patuloy na lalaban para sa pangarap!🇵🇭,” Catantan added.
