Serbia, France, Canada climb FIBA rankings after Olympic Games Paris 2024

USA remained on top of the FIBA rankings, Serbia moved up to number two, while France and Canada enter the top five after the Olympic Games Paris 2024.

Serbia jumped up two spots, overtaking Germany after beating the FIBA World Cup champions for the Olympic bronze medal.

  

Host France leaped five places up to number four, after figuring in the gold medal round against USA.

  

Canada climbed up to number five after their first Olympic run in 24 years.

South Sudan, who made its debut in Olympic Games basketball, leaped from 34th place to 23rd. They are now the top-ranked team in Africa, dislodging Cote d'Ivoire.

  

The Philippines, off an unexpected run in the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament, rose from number 37 to 34. 

Australia, dropping two spots, remained the top ranked team in the Asia zone at seventh place. Japan rose five places to 21st.
