The EASL just got a whole lot tougher following the arrival of former NBA star Jeremy Lin.

Lin recently announced that he has joined his younger brother Joseph at the New Taipei Kings ahead of the team’s domestic season and debut in the EASL.

The former New York Knicks star spent over two seasons in the Chinese Basketball Association, playing for the Beijing Ducks and Guangzhou Loong Lions.

In January, Lin made the move to join the Kaohsiung 17LIVE Steelers. During that season, Lin averaged 26.32 points, 8.47 rebounds, and 8.89 assists, securing the player-of-the-month award for three consecutive months starting in March.

The Kings, meanwhile, are a recent addition to the EASL after the vacancy created when the Bay Area Dragons reportedly disbanded just a few weeks ago.

In the most recent P. LEAGUE+ season, New Taipei secured a strong second-place finish, trailing just behind the three-time champion Taipei Fubon Braves.

In Group B, the Kings have been grouped together with the Seoul SK Knights, Ryukyu Golden Kings, where Gilas Pilipinas stalwart Carl Tamayo plays, and Barangay Ginebra San Miguel.

The EASL is set to kick off on October 11th with a format that includes both home and away matches.

PBA fans will definitely be excited to see a match between the two Kings.
