TNT lived up to its top billing as it clobbered fellow import-less NorthPort, 99-79, to head to the quarterfinals on a winning note in the PBA Season 49 Governors' Cup at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Cubao on Saturday, Sept. 22.

The Tropang Giga, already assured of the No. 1 seed in Group A, captured its eighth win in ten tries despite playing sans import Rondae Hollis-Jefferson, who aggravated his right bruised ankle in the squad's previous outing against Terrafirma.

With the playoffs just two playdates away, TNT made sure to return to its winning ways following a shock loss to the Dyip, which gave the luckless team its first win.

Meralco (7-3) clinched the second seeding Saturday, Sept. 21, after deflating Terrafirma while Magnolia (5-4) and Converge (5-4) will contest the third and fourth spots on Monday, Sept. 23.
