That was why he went a little extra in Game 3 on Sunday, Oct. 13, as he delivered 26 points and 16 rebounds for the Elasto Painters' pulsating 110-109 win at the Dasmarinas City Arena in Cavite.
“Just had a confidence in myself, just knowing we don’t want to go down 0-3. It’s not impossible to get back. But that’s a tall order, trying to comeback down 0-3,” said Fuller, whose team is still behind 1-2 in the best-of-seven series.
“Just trying to lay it all out there. Like coach (Yeng Guiao) said, we had other people step up and help out as well. It wasn’t just me. It was a total team effort.”
His brightest moment came in the dying seconds when he completed a three-point play with 3.8 ticks left for the final score.
“Just to make the free throw, and then to get one more stop,” said Fuller.
“They had a good shot, but our defense was able to get it together and stop them from getting the layup,” he added, referring to Rondae Hollis-Jefferson’s last-ditch effort to snatch the game from the Elasto Painters.
But the job is far from done.
There are still kinks the Elasto Painters need to iron if they want to even the series come Game 4 on Wednesday, Oct. 16.
“We just want to keep improving what we did today. Probably get back to our offense (since) we finally played two good halves,” said Fuller, whose team folded in the second half of the first two games in the series.
