When she was still playing for the Ateneo Blue Eagles, Vanie Gandler never envisioned herself being in the professional ranks.

Now, not only is she in the big league, but Gandler is also emerging as one of the reliable outside hitters of the Cignal HD Spikers in the PVL.

Gandler, who skipped her final UAAP playing year, showed anew on Tuesday why she belongs in the big league as she starred in Cignal's 25-17, 25-17, 24-26, 25-11 win over the Galeries Tower Highrisers in the continuation of the PVL Second All-Filipino Conference at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City.

After the match, during the Best Player of the Game interview, the youthful spiker, who finished with 14 points, had an inspiring message to her UAAP Season 84 self.

“To my Season 84 self, just jeep going,” she said.

But there’s a lot of work cut out for her and the HD Spikers. As it is now, Cignal is mired in the middle of the pack in the standings with a 4-2 win-loss record.

“We’re halfway through the elimination round. This is a good boost for us. We’re just gonna keep working and move forward,” she said.

Cignal will next face the Petro Gazz Angels on Saturday at the same venue. The Highrisers, who won their first ever set in the same match against Cignal, will look to build on their rousing third set when they take on the PLDT High Speed Hitters on Thursday, also at PhilSports Arena.
