Farm Fresh Foxies captain and setter Louie Romero finished the 2023 PVL Second All-Filipino Conference preliminaries as the third best setter.
After all, she had Trisha Tubu and Kate Santiago--two of the top ten scorers of the preliminaries--as part of her arsenal.
Now, add a Caitlin Viray from the silver medal-winning Choco Mucho Flying Titans.
"Masarap sa feeling, marami kang spikers na pagpipilian," Romero told reporters during the PVL Media Day.
"Mahirap din on my part, kailangan kabisaduhin. As a spiker, marami silang choices na kailangan pagdating sa set. As a setter, iaadjust ko 'yung gusto nila para 'di kami mahirapan pagdating ng game."
Tubu was the Foxies' top scorer of the conference and she liked how each of them played differently.
"Si Kate, malakas pumalo. Si Ate Cait, mas veteran, mas mautak. Ako, ewan ko ba kung paano ako maglaro," Tubu joked.
"Sobrang helpful sa team na walang magkakapareha. Talagang may iba-ibang techniques."
But with Japanese consultant Master Shimizu, they would have to learn the basics all the same.
"'Di naman naninibago si Ate Cait kasi sabay-sabay kaming bago lahat," Tubu said candidly. "Gusto niya perfect lahat. Gusto nila pare-parehas, walang naiiba."
"Even footwork, posture, position. Marami silang kino-correct," added Farm Fresh coach Jerry Yee.
That will be put to the test immediately against defending champions Creamline Cool Smashers on February 24, Saturday, 6 p.m. at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
It will be aired on One Sports, One Sports+, and the Pilipinas Live app.
