Chery Tiggo kicked off its 2024 PVL All-Filipino Conference campaign with a resounding statement after blazing past Capital1 Tuesday night.

The Crossovers orchestrated a drubbing of the Solar Spikers, 25-6, 25-15, 25-15, at the PhilSports Arena for an early winning start to the new season.

Ara Galang poured out a game-high 12 points built on nine attacks, two aces, and a block.

Mylene Paat supplemented the Crossovers with 11 markers on an efficient 11-of-17 spiking clip, while team captain Aby Maraño managed six points in two sets of action.

Chery Tiggo showcased its might right from the get go as it raced to a double-digit separation to end the opening canto, 25-6.

The dominant start set the tone for the Crossovers, who would then shift into cruise control in the succeeding frames.

"We are happy na nanalo...Actually andito na 'yung Chery na hinihintay namin,” said Chery Tiggo head coach Kungfu Reyes.

Capital1 could not give head coach Roger Gorayeb a triumphant return in the PVL. He last coached for PLDT in the 2021 Open Conference during the Bacarra, Ilocos Norte bubble.

Jannine Navarro paced the losing side with six points, while Syd Niegos and Patty Orendain finished with five markers apiece.

Chery Tiggo now sets its sight on Strong Group Athletics on February 24, Saturday, while Capital1 aims to barge into the win column when it faces Farm Fresh on February 29, Thursday.

Games will air live on One Sports, One Sports+, and the Pilipinas Live app.
