After playing a reserve role for F2 Logistics Cargo Movers, Chinnie Arroyo is savoring the abundance of exposure with the Farm Fresh Foxies.
For the first time in her budding professional career, Chinnie Arroyo has been thrust into a starting role with the Farm Fresh Foxies.
And on Thursday, Arroyo earned her stripes after delivering 11 points on an efficient 10-of-16 spiking clip to help the Foxies dismantle the Capital1 Solar Spikers in straight sets, 25-16, 25-18, 25-16, in the 2024 PVL All-Filipino Conference.
"Niyayakap ko lang 'tong role na 'to kasi never pa naman ako nagka-(big role) dati sa iba kong team. So ito yung chance ko ngayon so niyayakap ko talaga to," the NU product said.
Arroyo saw limited action during her time with the now-disbanded F2 Logistics.
Having joined Farm Fresh at the start of the year, the 22-year-old outside hitter is grateful for the support she has received from her teammates in her transition.
"Okay naman po kasi yung mga kasama ko naman madali lang silang ano talaga kasama, magaan then yung sa amin sa game nage-enjoy kami," Arroyo bared.
It was actually coach Jerry Yee who told management to take her in.
"Si Chinnie, 'di natin napansin nung una," Yee told a few reporters after training. "Then I mentioned it... naipasok natin si Chinnie."
Arroyo and the Foxies have had a promising start to their title-contention bid.
After giving defending champion Creamline a tough challenge in its campaign-opener, Farm Fresh delivered a resounding performance for a breakthrough win.
Arroyo offered some perspective on how the win-hungry Foxies approach every game.
"'Yung mindset namin alam mo 'yung parang pang-championship na mindset ganoon kasi po manalo matalo ganun po 'yung mindset ng lahat e 'yun nga championship mindset," she shared.
Arroyo and the Foxies will bank on the same mentality when they gun for win no. 2 versus the Akari Chargers on March 5, Tuesday, at the PhilSports Arena.
