It's back in the winning hunt for Farm Fresh.

Yeny Murillo meant business from the get-go and pushed the Foxies to a 25-17, 25-23, and 25-20 sweep of the Capital1 Solar Spikers to end their two-game skid in Pool D play of PVL Reinforced Conference on August 15, Thursday at the Philsports Arena, Pasig.

Murillo unleashed 15 points off 13 attacks and two aces for Farm Fresh, who limited Capital1`s super import Marina Tushova to just under 20 points after the Russian import exploded for a whopping 49 points in their last outing against the Nxled Chameleons.

More importantly, the much-needed victory put the Foxies ahead of the Choco Mucho Flying Titans for the eighth and final playoff slot with a 3-4 win-loss slate.

Capital1, meanwhile, saw their three-game winning streak snapped but remains in no. 6 with a 4-3 win-loss record.

The Solar Spikers threatened to come back and pull within a single point, 24-23, but Murillo connected on a deadly cross-court attack for a commanding 2-0 set lead.

It was a tight start in the third set, but Farm Fresh built a 16-13 lead midway through the match behind the trio of Murillo, Tubu, and Viray.

The Foxies put the metal to the pedal and sealed a straight-set victory over the Capital1 side riding high off Tushova’s scoring barrage as they will end their group stage run against the undefeated Akari Chargers.

Meanwhile, Capital1 will cap off their final preliminaries game against the Galeries Tower Highrisers on Tuesday, August 20.

Farm Fresh, who were leading 19-17 in the second set, scored three successive points off a Caitlin Viray power tip, a Yeny Murillo off-the-block attack, and a Capital1 net violation to make it 22-17.
