Some Cignal HD Spikers may be on the move ahead of the upcoming 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference.
After more than a decade of dedication to Cignal, veteran libero Jheck Dionela has officially moved on from the HD Spikers, signing with the up-and-coming Farm Fresh Foxies.
But it seems like Dionela wasn’t the only one moving on from the HD Spikers. A handful of Cignal players were also notably absent during the PVL’s latest Media Day, including Chin Basas, Glaudine Troncoso, Geneveve Casugod, and AJ Jingco.
While the only confirmed moves were that of Dionela and Jovelyn Gonzaga moving to ZUS Coffee, Cignal head coach Shaq Delos Santos expressed his gratitude and well-wishes to those that have been part of the HD Spikers.
“Siyempre ako, very thankful sa mga players namin before sa Cignal, and wish ko sa inyo na maging mas successful kayo sa career niyo and sa next teams na lalaruan niyo,” Delos Santos told One Sports.
“Of course, magkikita pa tayo and mam-imiss namin kayo. Ingat kayo lagi and God bless.”
Dionela's particular departure marks the end of an era for Cignal, where she had been a defensive stalwart since 2013.
Her tenure with the team was highlighted by multiple achievements, including two runners-up finishes and three third-place finishes in the PVL, as well as four Best Libero titles in the PSL.
Amid an possible roster change in Cignal, Delos Santos and the rest of the HD Spikers remain focused on their preparations for the upcoming 2024-25 All-Filipino Conference.
