PVL Watch Guide: 10 must-watch games in first round of 2024-25 All-Filipino Conference

The PVL has officially released its first round schedule for the highly-anticipated 2024-25 All-Filipino Conference, which will span from November to February.

It doesn’t take much effort to spot numerous exciting matchups sprinkled throughout, whether driven by rivalries, anticipated standings battles, or longstanding grudges.

Here are 10 games from the schedule that should be worth noting and watching live, whether on your screens or in the arena.

Petro Gazz vs Choco Mucho

> Saturday, Nov. 9

Kicking the new PVL season will be a match between the Petro Gazz Angels and Choco Mucho Flying Titans as both teams look to kick off their campaign on a solid note. 

It will be a battle as well of superstar spikers and former MVPs Brooke Van Sickle and Sisi Rondina.

Farm Fresh vs Cignal

> Saturday, Nov. 16

Should we call this the Rachel Anne Daquis-Jheck Dionela-Alohi Robbins-Hardy revenge game?

The new additions to Farm Fresh Foxies will face off against their former team, the Cignal HD Spikers, in what should be a thrilling bout.

Akari vs Creamline

> Saturday, Nov. 23

To this day, the loudest boos in a PVL match will belong to the 2024 Reinforced Conference final featuring the Akari Chargers and Creamline Cool Smashers.

Animosity or not, an Akari-Creamline battle should be one that fans will tune in to see the result.

Choco Mucho vs Creamline

> Tuesday, Dec. 3

The Rebisco Clasico.

Not much needs to be said when the Choco Mucho Flying Titans and Creamline Cool Smashers face off against each other.

Expect a wild crowd, plenty of action, and thrilling moments that will this match another one to remember.

Capital1 vs Galeries Tower

> Saturday, Dec. 7

This match could be considered special as based on the PVL’s website, the Capital1 Solar Spikers and Galeries Tower Highrisers will be facing off in Cebu.

While the exact venue has yet to be specified, this will be the first time that the league will be holding a game in the Queen City of the South.

Akari vs PLDT

> Saturday, Dec. 14

Revenge? Drama? Tension? All of these will be felt during the first match between the Akari Chargers and PLDT High Speed Hitters since their controversial semifinals match during the 2024 Reinforced Conference.

Will Akari get another win? Or will the PLDT avenge their heartbreaking exit?

Akari vs Nxled

> Thursday, Jan. 23

After a long break, the Akari Chargers will get right into it as they face their sister team, the Nxled Chameleons.

Don’t count out another upset by Nxled against Akari, especially with Italian coach Ettore Guidetti spearheading the Chameleons this time around.

ZUS Coffee vs Capital1

> Saturday, Jan. 25

A battle between the 1st and 2nd overall pick in the 2024 PVL Draft.

Thea Gagate and the ZUS Coffee Thunderbelles will face off against Leila Cruz and the Capital1 Solar Spikers.

By then, fans will have a clear indication of which teams have made progress during the conference, and many will be hoping that either ZUS Coffee or Capital1 have made strides with their young rosters.

Cignal vs Creamline

> Saturday, Feb. 1

Expect another classic between the Cignal HD Spikers and Creamline Cool Smashers.

Cignal has always come close but fell short against Creamlime, but could this be the conference where they finally get one over their rivals?

Chery Tiggo vs Choco Mucho

> Saturday, Feb. 22

It will be the revamped Chery Tiggo Crossovers going up against the Choco Mucho Flying Titans to end the first round of the All-Filipino Conference.

Who will have momentum heading into the second round? Who will have the upper hand in the standings by then? We’ll find out in due time.
